Norton, Richard. The son of Charles Eliot Norton of Harvard, archaeologist and founder of the American Volunteer Motor-Ambulance corps, which merged with Harjes' group to become the 'Norton-Harjes.' This corps did not accept militarisat ion in the fall of 1917 and disbanded.
