Trenchard, Air Marshal Hugh Montague, 1st Viscount. (1873-1956). Born, Taunton, Somerset, England.
Nicknamed "Boom" because of his commanding voice. Trenchard was responsible for the change in British air strategy from defensive to offensive. "The sky is too large to defend."
